Wli Waterfalls is the highest waterfall in Ghana and West Africa, it is located in HoeHoe of the Volta region  Wli, it is situated in the Wli Todzi Wildlife Sanctuary the land of the ewe culture Ghana, we were able to tour a few places in Volta region Ghana and you can't be in the Volta Region of Ghana and not visit wli waterfalls, wli waterfalls has been a tourist attraction known to many, you should know that there are two waterfalls when you visit the Wli waterfalls, there is the lowerfalls and the upper falls and each comes with a different fee, to climb the lowerfalls cost 15cedis, and to get to the upper falls cost 50cedis, if you will be visiting the upper fall best you be on your way early and by early i mean 7am-8am tops because it takes about 3hr to get to the upper falls and 3hrs to climb back which is 6 hrs and of course you will need some time to swim and really enjoy the beautiful and serene view of the falls and the environment, however, to get to the lowerfalls it only takes about 30mins tops.

Note To Take Down Before Visiting Wli Waterfalls

  • Wli waterfalls is also called Agoomatsa waterfalls - meaning, Allow Me to Flow. it is located in HoeHoe of the Volta region the land of the ewe culture in Ghana
  • There are two falls when you visit the Wli waterfalls, the Lower Falls and the Upper Falls, 
  • The Lower Wli Falls is wider and offers a pool at the base where visitors can swim and relax, while the Upper Wli Falls is the higher of the two falls, It cascades down from a considerable height, creating a beautiful and worth seeing sight 
  • To climb to the downfalls takes about 30mins maximum, while to get to the upper falls takes 4hrs maximum, also it depends on your speed. so i advise you to take off early so you can get enough time to explore the falls and capture the moments, The pool is a popular spot for visitors to cool off, after the hike
  • The cost price to get to the upper falls is 50cedis and the cost to get to the downfalls is 15cedis. The waterfalls can be visited throughout the year but it is most impressive during the rainy season (May to October) when the water flow is at its peak,


There are other exciting places you could visit just around the Wli Waterfalls they have craft shops you can visit; this is where they sell beautiful crafts and artworks for memories, they also have shops where you can get some Ghana outfits/kente for yourself and loved ones... and then there is mountain Afadjato which is just a few kilometers away from Wli waterfalls
