Tone down on intemperate language — Otumfuo
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has advised politicians to talk to their supporters to tone down on the use of intemperate language.

He said the country should not go to war because of the election and urged politicians to be civil in their utterances.
He also advised politicians to avoid name calling and personal attacks in their campaign platforms.
Instead, he asked them to explain to the electorate how they would implement their various programmes intended to bring reliefs to the people.
That, he said would attract the electorate and convince them of which party to vote for in the elections.
Courtesy call
The Asantehene made the call when the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo paid a courtesy call on him and the Asanteman Council at the Manhyia Palace yesterday.
He said even though the party had its roots from the palace, the Constitution made it impossible for him to declare support for any political party.
He said even though the Constitution made it clear that the Executive, the Legislature and Judiciary were independent, the facts on the ground did not support that.
That notwithstanding, he said he knew the needs of his people and would support any party that would provide those needs.
"I want water for my people, good roads, health and educational infrastructure for my people and I’m looking for the one who would provide those needs, " he said.
John Agyekum Kufuor
Former President John A. Kufuor, who led the delegation to the palace, informed Otumfuo and the chiefs of the upcoming elections and the need for the people to rally behind the NPP to come to power.
He said the team was at the palace to introduce the candidate to the chiefs and also seek their prayers and support.
He said the best years in the history of the country in recent years were the first reign of the NPP where good policies and programmes were implemented to the benefits of Ghanaians.
He said it was time power was reverted to the NPP to enable it to revive the economy and bring hope to the nation.
Akufo- Addo
The NPP presidential candidate reiterated his call on the electorate to bring back the party to power and save Ghanaians from the current hardships.
He said all the good policies implemented by President Kufuor had either been abandoned or badly followed.
He cited the Inland Port at Boankra which had been abandoned, the railway system which had collapsed and the Sofoline-Kejetia road project which was yet to be completed.
He stated that when voted into power, those projects would be completed for the benefits of the residents.
He called on the traditional rulers to impress on their people to check their names in the voters register during the exhibition which would begin on Monday.
He added that it was not enough for them to declare their support for the party but also ensure that their names were in the register.
