Judging process

Stage 1: One National Winner per country
A panel of regional Google employees will evaluate and vote on all entries. The entries with the top ten scores will be voted on by the Global Doodle artist team. The doodle with the greatest number of votes will be named the National Winner.
National winner prize:
- The national winning doodle will be displayed on Google's homepage for that country.
- The national winner will win a framed copy of his/her doodle and a lap-top.
- The runner up will win art supplies.
- The national winners from each participating country will be displayed on the Doodle 4 Google – Love Football contest web site.

Stage 2: One International Winner
The public will be invited to vote for their favourite doodle from all the national winners, to choose the global winner.
Global winner prize:
- The global winning doodle will be displayed on the Google homepage globally for 24 hours on 11th July 2010.
- The winner will win a holiday to South Africa offered by South Africa Tourism Board (The trip is for 4 people including one adult, for nine nights, and includes international flights, domestic transportation and accommodation).
Runner-up prize:
- The runner-up will win 2 VIP tickets to a Premiere League football match in the UK offered by Sports New Media, including international flights, domestic transportation and accommodation in the city where the match takes place.
Judging criteria
A judging panel of Googler's in each participating country or region will evaluate the doodle entries based on the following criteria:
- Artistic merit – based on drawing skills and use of colour.
- Creativity – based on the representation of the I love football theme and use of the Google logo.
- "I love football" communication – how well the artist’s concept of the theme is expressed.
- Supporting title and statement – how well the artist explains his/her love of football.
- The doodle must not show any representation, logo or symbol of a specific country or a team or a sporting event such as: All football teams badges, any country flags, any football tournaments symbols or logos. (Such doodles will be disqualified to compete).
